Our Origins.

Climate Care began as a student-led research and community health literacy project, inspired by the idea that the health of our planet and the health of our bodies are interconnected. To explore this connection, digital resources focused on holistic medicine and environmental wellbeing were initially created and shared with over 15 students across New Jersey, assessing their impact on improving health literacy.

Following positive outcomes of a 40% increase in literacy after evaluating pre-intervention survey results and post-intervention survey results, the project has grown into a youth-led initiative dedicated to empowering younger audiences to understand and iWe aim to promote early awareness, encourage prevention-focused habits, and inspire students to become change-makers who recognize that caring for the Earth is an essential part of caring for ourselves.

Climate Care is still in its early stages of development, but below you will find an overview of what we plan to launch in the coming months.

What we do and how we do it.

Digital Resources:

At Climate Care, our team is currently developing engaging educational resources for younger audiences on various topics in planetary health. These include interactive learning modules, digital flashcard sets, lesson plans, action guides, and our blog articles.

In-Person Workshops + Lessons:

Beyond our online resources, we will be hosting 2-3 seasonal workshops through our chapters across the U.S. These take place in schools, libraries, and local youth centers. During these sessions, chapter leads and volunteers will lead lessons and presentations designed for middle and high school students.

Each event will be organized by our chapter leads, workshop coordinators, and outreach coordinators.

Online Webinars:

We aim to host webinars every two months featuring guest speakers from the fields of climate science, public health, and medicine. Each session highlights their work, research, and advice for youth passionate about protecting our planet and getting involved with the cause.

As a newly established organization, Climate Care is actively expanding its reach and impact!

We welcome volunteers and chapter leads who share our vision for a healthier planet and want to help bring our initiative to life.
